SPECIAL MONTHLY MISSIONS

Custer Network Against Domestic Abuse (CNADA)

CNADA “Custer Network Against Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault”
CNADA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking across southeastern Montana. Founded in 1996. CNADA provides free and confidential services to individuals and families in Carter, Custer, Fallon, Garfield, Powder River, Rosebud, and Treasure counties. We are deeply rooted in Montana’s rural communities—places where neighbors know each other by name, where resilience is a way of life, and where access to safety and support can be miles away.
CNADA bridges that distance by offering trauma-informed advocacy, emergency shelter, legal and medical advocacy, crisis intervention, outreach education, and safety planning. We work side by side with law enforcement, courts, schools, and local partners to build safer, stronger communities where survivors are believed, supported, and empowered.

November: Salvation Army of Miles City
The Mission Committee of FPC learned that the Shop with a Cop program has been cancelled for this year. Therefore, they requested Session change our November special offering designee to the Salvation Army of Miles City.
The Salvation Army of Miles City helps to support residents of Miles City and immediate residents of Custer County, as well as some transient people. The SA helps with rent (once a year – residents only), utilities, fuel for transportation, hotel vouchers, and food vouchers. Some of these services are administered by our local Southeastern Montana Dispatch Team.
Additionally, the Salvation Army of Miles City has a day they take local school children – who qualify for the reduced lunch program – Christmas shopping. This special Children’s Christmas Shopping Day is set for December 6, 2025, from 9AM – 11AM. The money received in our November Special Offering will be given to the Salvation Army of Miles City for their special children’s shopping day. If you wish to donate outside of the church, please ensure your check is written to the Salvation Army of Miles City to ensure all money remains local.
You may also choose to support the local Salvation Army by volunteering to be a bell ringer. If you are interested, please let Pastor Jamie know and she will ensure you get connected with the right people.
Thanks in advance for your giving!

Miles City
Soup Kitchen
The Miles City Soup Kitchen serves nutritious meals Monday - Friday and serves food from 11AM - 12:30PM, except holidays. The kitchen is located in the dining room of the First United Methodist Church (FUMC) here in downtown Miles City! FUMC is just across the street and through the parking lot from First Presbyterian Church. The mission of the soup kitchen is: "to provide healthy and appetizing meals to all in this community who come to us in need - the poor, the hungry, the lonely" without reference to age, race, sex, or religious affiliation. The soup kitchen doesn't serve meals, it serves Jesus.
Community Support is what keeps the soup kitchen open. Meals are provided at no cost, but donations help keep the doors open and are always appreciated.

One Great Hour of Sharing
The One Great Hour of Sharing is a special offering of the PC (U.S.A). During the Season of Lent (Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday), many churches, if not the majority of churches, throughout the PCUSA participate in the OGHS. From the PCUSA website: (https://pcusa.org/special-offerings/one-great-hour-sharing) ...
Around the world, millions of people lack access to sustainable food sources, clean water, sanitation, education, and opportunity. The work done in support of the causes supported by One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) — disaster, hunger, poverty, climate change, and immigration/migration and refugees —serves individuals and communities in need. This work provides people with safety, sustenance, and hope.
Received during the season of Lent (Feb. 18–April 5), each gift to OGHS helps to improve the lives of people in these challenging situations. The Offering provides us a way to share God’s love with our neighbors in need. In fact, OGHS is the single, largest way Presbyterians come together every year to work for a better world.
Thank you for promoting and supporting One Great Hour of Sharing, an Offering that responds directly to the call to do justice in Micah 6:8. IF WE ALL DO A LITTLE, IT ADDS UP TO A LOT!
